Chapter 5: Delirium Research Questions: Author Biography
        

Photo of Eduardo BrueraDr. Eduardo D. Bruera is currently Professor of Medicine, as well as the F. T. McGraw Chair in the Treatment of Cancer, and heads the Department of Symptom Control and Palliative Care at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Before coming to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Bruera was the Director of the Division of Palliative Care Medicine at the University of Alberta and the Clinical Director of the Edmonton Regional Palliative Care Program. He was also Professor of Oncology and the Alberta Cancer Foundation Chair in Palliative Medicine at the University of Alberta. He has worked closely with the World Health Organization; in 1994, he was the President of the World Health Organization/Pan American Health Organization Regional Focal Point in Palliative Care for Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the Coordinator of the Pan American Health Organization. Since graduating from the University de Rosario in Argentina in 1979, Dr. Bruera's medical specialty has been the study and management of the major symptoms associated with patients who have terminal cancer.
