Correct
The
OMAS scale was specifically designed and validated for mucositis
trials and thus is generally regarded as the most sensitive and
specific. Its endpoints focus on specific objective outcomes that
measure the morphologic endpoints of ulcerative mucositis. Additionally,
these endpoints correlate well with symptomatic and other healthcare
outcomes such as analgesic use, days of fever, hospital charges,
and length of hospital stays.
